Palestine

This land has been rocked with violence and controversy for centuries. The current infitada which began in September of 2000 has brought a wave of Israeli incursions which has severely destabilized the Palestinian Authority. CCC started a church in Jerusalem in 1929. In 1948 during the Arab-Israeli war, the church moved to Bethlehem, where it remains today. The number of Arab evangelical Christians has been reduced to a handful of people. Violence has led many to migrate to other countries, leaving the remaining few at the mercy of militant groups. Pray not only for the safety of these believers who are often caught in the crossfires, but also pray for God to speak peace through their faith to those around them. Pray for the Nassars as they battle over a land dispute, also.

Pray that…

  • There would be peace in the Middle East.
  • God would protect the Nassar family who have chosen to remain and be a witness in a increasingly unstable environment.
  • There would be an equitable settlement of land issues between Israelis and Palestinians.
