Today’s Sermon is from Genesis 2:18-25. Verse 24 is quoted in the New Testament to make three different claims about the nature of marriage. In Matthew 19 Jesus quotes it to remind us that marriage is permanent. In 1 Corinthians 6 Paul refers back to Genesis to make a point about sexual purity. And in Ephesians 5:31 he cites the same verse when teaching about the unity or oneness of husband and wife.
