Verse 1 of today’s text links Jeremiah 33 to the preceding narrative: God speaks a second time to Jeremiah while he’s confined under guard during the final, terrible siege of Jerusalem.   So we can read chapters 32 and 33 as scenes 1 and 2  of Jeremiah’s prison experience.
