Junior High

Junior High is an awesome age!  It is at this age that most young men and women begin to ask deep questions, to think more critically and to build deep friendships.  It is our hope that the junior high youth ministry will help you, or your student, to do all three of these things well.  Please click the links provided to the right for more information on our two weekly junior high events as well as the service projects, retreats and special events sections.  If you have any questions about these programs, please contact Pastor Leo at lbarnes@ccczion.org.

Junior High Youth Group

Junior High Youth Group is all about games, friends, growth and dodgeball.  These events, open to anyone in 7th or 8th grade, typically involve 45 minutes of games, 30 minutes of “devotions,” a variety of discussion and activities designed to help students make connections between God and their lives and 30 minutes of gym time, which often means dodgeball.  Youth group meets most Monday nights from 6:30-8:30 pm in the youth room.

Sunday Morning Training

Designed for Christian students to go deeper in their understanding of their faith, our Sunday morning education program provides a 7th and 8th grade boys’ class and a 7th and 8th grade girls’ class.  These classes alternate years between a thorough Bible Instruction Course program one year and a year-long study of Christ from birth to ascension.  These courses are taught by some of our best staff, who thrive on helping students dig deep.  The classes meet from 9:00-10:10 am.  The boys meet in Room 8/10 and the girls meet in Room 13.
