God, the Holy Spirit, Third Person of the Trinity (Texts…The New Testament)
His Nature:
He is the Spirit of the God we know … all that he does and says is consistent with the Ministry of the Father and the Son. (John 16:12-15)
He is the Father’s gift granted to all who ask. (Luke 11:13; Acts 2:17-18)
He is personal, not a force … forces cannot be grieved by sin. (Ephesians 4:30)
He is God’s breath, forger of this holy weapon (cover to cover) and he wields it with surgical precision. (Acts 28:25-26; Ephesians 6:17-18; Hebrews 4:12)
He is omniscient, knowing everything, even the deep things of God, (1 Corinthians 2:10-15)
And all that we understand of spiritual matters, we grasp because of him.

His Global Mission
He is in the world convicting men of guilt in regards to sin righteousness and judgment. (John 16:7-11)
Though the world violently resists him, they cannot overcome him. (Acts 7:51; 6:9-11)
He is the trustworthy testifier, the vindicator of Christ’s ministry (1 John 5:6; Romans 1:4; 1 Timothy 3:16)
He is the Power and boldness behind all witness. (Acts 1:8; 4:31)
The unseen speaker every time the Gospel is shared. (1 Peter 1:12)
He is the force of conviction to those who hear, (1Thessalonians 1:4-7)
And He is always crying out to the lost … “Come! The gift of Life is free!” (Revelation 22:17)
His Work in Salvation
He is the Creator of faith. (Galatians 3)
No one ever came to faith before he worked, (1 Corinthians 2:14)
And no one possesses Salvation who is not first possessed by him. (Acts 2:38; Romans 8:9)
Redemption comes through his washing, his renewing, his sanctifying work. (Philippians 1:18-19; 1 Peter 1:1-2; 2 Thessalonians 2:13)
By his power we confess that Jesus is Lord, come in the flesh from God. (1 Corinthians 12:3; 1 John 4:2-3)
He delivers new life and guards that life once we believe. (1 Peter 3:18; 2 Timothy 1:13-14; 1 John 4:13)
He is our Seal, our Mark, our Deposit and the irrevocable Guarantee of our Salvation! (2 Corinthians 1:21-22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13)
His Work in the Christian’s Life
He is the Spirit of Christ, the captain of our souls and we march to his cadence. (Romans 8:9; 8:3-4; Galatians 5:25)
He sets the believer apart for noble use, molding us into the image of Christ with ever increasing glory. (Romans 15:16; 2 Corinthians 3:18)
He is guide and reminder, Counselor and helper, the Spirit of Truth. (John 15:26; 14:24-26)
Where he lives freedom reigns and sinners change. (2 Corinthians 3:17-18)
He is the death sentence for sin and the soil from whence every Christian virtue springs: (Galatians 5:19-26)
Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control … and hope. (Galatians 5:19-26)
He gives us access to God. (Ephesians 2:18)
He is the Spirit of Wisdom and revelation teaching us to know God and call him Abba, Father! (Ephesians 1:17; Galatians 4:6)
He is the power of the inner man, our intoxicating influence, (Ephesians 3:16; 5:18)
And the source of all Worship that truly pleases God. (John 4:23-24; Philippians 3:3)
His Work in the Church
He is speaking today. (Revelation 2 & 3)
He lives in each of us and forms us together into a holy dwelling place for God. (1 Corinthians 3:16; Ephesians 2:22)
He is the builder, the strengthener, the encourager of the Church. (Acts 9:31)
He delivers God’s gifting to each believer toward that goal. (1 Corinthians 12:7)
It is he who pours out love and only in him do we find true fellowship. (Romans 5:5; 2 Corinthians 13:14; Philippians 2:1)
Nothing happens in the Kingdom of Christ apart from the Holy Spirit. (Summary statement … no one reference)
